Jah is a queer, non-binary, proud Southside Chicago native. They are a neurodivergent, multi-hyphenate creative and community organizer – with an extensive background in education, earth stewardship, spiritual hygiene, and community development. With over a decade of experience – Jah has organized all across Illinois, Philadelphia (where she attended Temple University), Oakland, Georgia, South Carolina, and Hawai’i.
When they aren’t getting food into the community with BSA, Jah is likely hosting Forage & Plant Walks across the south and west sides of the city through Brown People Foundation – where they serve as Vice Chairman. In addition, Jah is a certified Kundalini yoga instructor and lives by the mantra of “do no harm, take no sh*t” [or ish]. She strives to work from a framework of empathy, compassion, and one that is solution-oriented and holistically focused.
